Toy Lending Programs

All children should have access to the gift of play. Through playing with toys, children learn a variety of new skills that build a base for them to reach their full potential.

Our Toy Lending Libraries offer traditional as well as adaptive toys for children and their families, at no cost, to enjoy at home. Adaptive toys are operated with switches or attachments that assist in teaching specific skills for children with special needs. For toy library locations, please contact Jack’s Helping Hand.

Jack’s Toy Box is a program we run in collaboration with the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education. This program allows us to bring the benefit of our adaptive toy lending libraries to our clients’ home by enabling physical and occupational therapists to deliver toys and therapeutic equipment to the homes of various special needs and early intervention clientele throughout San Luis Obispo County. Through the SLOCOE Early Intervention Program, a home visit teacher or specialist will provide a box of toys to each family. The toys will be tailored to the child’s developmental age and are meant to be educational as well as fun, helping the child learn while they play. The program also provides for the periodic pickup and replacement of toys and equipment, as our clients’ needs evolve and our children grow developmentally.
